My New 1993 GS300 Project

Did you get a '98-'00 GS steering wheel or a '01+? Either way, both 3-spoke steering wheels are great looking.

It was not too hard to remove, the hardest part was probably removing the seats since they are heavy. To get the carpet out, you need to remove all the seats, the armrest and center console, the floor trim on each side, the pillar over the seat belt tensioners, and the foot vents.

Pass Door Regulator and Wires
I also replaced the passenger front window regulator and also fixed the problem with the driver rear door not getting any power. The problem was that the door had 4 broken wires in the boot of the door jamb. I soldered all four wires and now I have all my windows working again!

Shifter Wood
I got extremely lucky to find this in the junk yard. After 2 months of looking for this shifter in the junk yard, I came across one yesterday from a 1997. As you can see the 1997 shifter is different than the 1993 due to the 1997 having (5ECT-i) whatever that means...and the "S" instead of the "2". Oh well, I don't care.

That's awesome. I have almost the same thing going on my is300 turbo (trans issue) last Saturday so its on blocks in the third car. Here is the pic of my new Daily GS300 paid a bit more for mine $ 2800.00 so 800 for you is a steal! Good thing about mine was it was a local Lexus dealer car and always serviced until the last 50k or so. Ill have to do a full tune up but working on the very small coolant issue first, then detail interior then full tune up then brake pads. I love the car phone lol, although its not activated i pretend a 1993 drug deal is going down on my commutes.

Window switches, cupholder
The GS came with a missing cup holder so I found one at the junk yard. I must say, these cup holders are the most useless pieces of crap ever. Whoever engineered the placement of the cup holder for the 1st gen GS failed. I don't even use this cup holder because it's so flimsy. I just wanted to fill in that hole.
Also, I have replaced all the window switches with wood that wasn't peeling. The front passenger door had the wood completely missing. Both rear door had chipping pieces of wood.

Floor mats and rear painted rotors
My rear brakes started squeaking so I got some new rear brake pads. Decided it was a good time to paint the rusted rotors black while I had the calipers off. Also got myself some LS400 floor mats, they fit the GS perfectly!
