Default Help! Please!

My Tachometer and speedometer has stopped. Nothing. Check engine is also on. Trouble shooting ideas urgently needed!

These were a rebuilt set of gauges. So he said. I've had to switch back to my old gauges with no lights.

Do your old gauges work properly aside from lights?

My over drive won't engage. Fuel gauge won't work either. On the old one that is.
New one. No Tachometer and no speedometer. CEL is on too.

I think I messed up the old one when I took it apart. Either under or over tightened the retaining screws.

If you replaced the bulbs they could just be in wrong. Also like 8 of the screws on the back plate are continuity to the main board so if they are too tight/loose they may not be getting proper voltage. Those are for the fuel and temp gauges if I remember right. Be careful as they are easy to strip. I put some dielectric grease on those connections.

Roger on the dielectric. I'll do that too.

I'll run the broke *** gauge and use my gps for speed until I repair my gauge.

No I never replaced the bulbs yet. I say I messed up on the screws on the circuit board.

Seems like something loose on the board on the backside of the cluster. Good luck.

From what website did you order the bulbs for the cluster?

I couldn't tell you. They look damn good in white led though. I always just call the dealer and ask for that part number.

What happened to that write up about changing the bulbs? I found the one in the sticky under the DIY but that's not it. I think deknick did it? It was a full write up on the disassembly of the gauges.

I know he has a write up over on clubaristo, so I'd assume he's got one here as well...
