thinking about giving the 1st gen GS a shot. Ls400 owner how do they compair?
early GS seem to be hard to find but ive always been intrested in them. ive seen a few pop up on craigslist pretty cheap and i am considering picking one up as a second car if i can find one that isnt too beat up. anyway what im most curious about is how do they ride? i know they are 6cyl and not v8s. are they as quick as a 1995 Ls400 and do they handle as well? my Ls is hard to beat but im looking for something i can have fun in.

I don't own an LS400 but I have driven several. As far as handling the GS wins. The ride quality I would say is abput equal but the GS does inspire more confidence at highway speeds especially if you have to make a quick stop or sudden lane change. When it comes to acceleration I don't think either car is amazingly quick. The LS400 feels better out of the hole because its a V8.

The GS300 is definitely 'fun.' I bought a 1995 not knowing what I had. It's a great car, way too much for her, selling it hopefully to someone who can appreciate its rarity. I love my LS400 though...so smooth and the pick up can't be beat!

I didn't answer your question Stereorob, the 1995 GS I have rides very well and most definitely quick. Apparently it was kept up by previous owners. They were made to live forever.
