Default Upgrading brakes

I'm in the process of upgrading my brake pads/rotors and I need help on what brand to use. I'm not looking to do a big brake upgrade; I want cross drilled/slotted rotors and better brake pads. I'm open to all suggestions. If you could give me your top 2 or 3 brands. Also, are ceramic brakes better than semi-metallic?

Any insight is appreciated.

If you want a sweet bbk Figs has a great setup that's about half what I paid for my stoptech.

If you aren't doing a bbk or even the ls400 or supra TT swap then I suggest powerslot rotors and a decent set of pads.

I have a set of slightly used ls400 fronts already clearances for sale.

You do NOT need rca for the ls if its clearanced, which my set are and have a few thousand miles on them with no leaks or anything. Before you make any decision there is plenty of previous threads on this topic so you can use the search function and read all the good and bad of each.

The previous owner planned on doing an LS brake upgrade. He purchased most of the parts . They are sitting in my trunk. He told me that I would have to change the wheels to non factory if I did the upgrade. I want the factory wheels, so I can't do that.

I though you didn't have to use rca if you use the Supra brakes?

I think supra setup is direct bolt on, no rca needed.

Look into stock ls or newer GS wheels. They will clear and still factory Lexus wheels.

the toyota supra BBK kit is a direct bolt on, you need to purchase a minimun of 17" wheels, with a pretty low offset. but you DO NOT need a the RCA kit

the lexus LS400 BBK kit, you can use 16" wheels, but have to have a pretty low offset, and YOU DO NEED to use the RCA kit, so the brake clears the lower ball joint.

if you do not wanna do a BBK kit, then i would suggest powerslot(i think they're called stoptech now) rotors, and Hawk pads
