For the most part the interior is done. There are still a couple pieces I want to change out. I'm currently looking for them. I need to sure up the front suspension/steering. I was experiencing some wheel vibrations from 45-60 mph. All signs point to my control arms.

The following items were purchased today:

- Front upper/lower control arms.
- Inner/outer tie rods
- front sway bar links

I'm also in need of a tune up so I ordered a tune up kit. My next task will be the rear suspension. The prices for the rear control arms scare me but I'm sure they need to be changed.

Instead of changing the whole arms, why not just replace the bushings? I did all of the lower bushings in my GS with the poly bushings from Figs Engineering. Made a huge difference.

Good idea! I will do that on the rear since the arms are pricey and hard to locate. I will check out the FIGS Website

Do the poly bushings cause any extra harshness, noise or vibration compared to the stock bushings?

Not that I noticed, then again mine were all worn out, plus I am used to driving my supra which I have installed a VERY stiff suspension in.

Guys,

I have bittersweet news. I'm in the market to purchase a GS400. I wanted to have more power without having to add a turbo kit. The GS4 helps me achieve that. I'm in talks with a dealership on a 1998 with 133K. The car is in great condition. One owner from Florida. This purchase ultimately means I will be parting ways with my 1GS. I wish I could keep them both, but I don't have the space. My wife & I currently own 3 cars; a 4th car would leave two cars in the driveway. I don't like parking cars in the driveway. I'm going to put my car up for sale. I will post pictures of the new car once I finalize the deal.

I understand what you mean....I have thought getting GS4 for the extra power without the hassle of a turbo swap too but there are so many 2nd Gens in my area and I can go an entire without seeing another 1st Gen but like I said I understand what you mean. Good luck!!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I see 2nd gen GS' all the time. But I guess one can find some sort of reassurance in that. It's a popular car for a reason. The masses don't buy junk.

I actually purchased the GS400. It's fun to drive. A huge difference between my 1GS. I had plans to sell it; I'm having second thoughts. I really don't want to let her go! Now, I'm forced with an even bigger task. The challenge of convincing my wife that I "need" both cars. This should be fun. Wish me luck!
