17x10 on a 1st Gen?
Is this doable? I was thinkin 17x8 front and 17x10 rear RPF1's which offset would be best. I really dont wanna stretch tires to much...Im goin more for performance then looks but I don't want sunk in wheel wells neither.

My old wheels were 19x8.5/9.5 +38 f/r with a 235 tire in front and a 275 in rear and I didnt have to roll my frenders at all. The fronts were just about "flush" with no stretched tire...but again I wasnt rolled so I could have got another 1/2" outwards no problem if I were to roll them and keep non-stretched tires. The rears could have probably took a 10" +30 with no stretched tire and roll the fenders.
OEM Supra TT wheels are 17x8/9.5 +50 off set and they sink in quite a bit. You're going to want something wider then an 8 in the front unless you want to go with a really low offset
Heres 19x8.5 F/ 9.5R +38 F/R no rolled fenders no rubbing issues. Camber within OE spec. IMO, rears could have been 10" with a 30 offest

something close to those measurements should be good. Do you have stocks on it right now or something else? Are you planning on rolling the fenders (should do)? I dont know what the backspacing would be with a 9" +40 since I never measure my backspace with the 19x8.5/9.5 wheels.
just imagine the wheel looking at it from the front/back view (not looking at the face) and do the math. 25.4mm = an inch. So knowing that, start with the specs of the current wheels and say... if I add 1" to the width of the wheel, it will make it stick out 1/2" more on the inside and outside lip and if I lowered the offset by 13mm, it will make it stick out 1/2" inch more, but since offset is just positioning of the face, it will bring it out 1/2 inch more on the outside lip and take away 1//2" from the inside lip, there for now having the new measurements with equal backspacing (clearance between inner wheel and coilover/arms, inside clearance) as the current wheels but stick out 1" total with the 1" wider wheel with 13mm more negative offset.
If you didnt quite get what I was saying, just search around and you can find images that explain it. Take some measuring tape, go out the the car and measure away and see what sizes will fit in the wheel well.
also have to consider it they're low, medium, or high disk for brake caliper clearance
