I just got finished putting on my new timing belt and putting everything back together after a whole week, and I went over to the bank (less than a mile away) and the engine starts whistling and then stalled, drove home fast as hell, now it still whistles, all vacuum hoses are in the correct pipes, pcv valves are in, egr valve is in right, the noise is coming from the throttle body/back sparkplug cover area, any ideas?

Did you blow out a spark plug? It really sounds like your intake tube isn't on correctly, or it has a tear in one of the couplers. Does the whistling get louder with more RPMs?

The whistling actually goes away with higher rpms, i'm almost sure it's the throttle body because I put my hand on it and pressed down a bit and the whistling got louder, i'm gonna tighten that up tomorrow, could that cause the rough idling too though?

I suppose it could. The MAF is reading that it is getting the correct amount of air, but the O2's think that you are running rich, so it probably cannot sort it out. My guess is there is a tear in the rubber "coupler" if you will, and that is causing the leak

I guess I can give it a shot, they sell our couplings anywhere or would that be a dealer part?

This may be obvious, but since you mentioned tightening up the throttle body (implying it was taken off) remember theres a gasket between the throttle body and y-pipe that's NON-reusable. Again, pretty obvious but I caught myself forgetting about the gasket when I went to a spark plug change one time so I just thought I'd mention it

no mine didnt do the same because I didnt put it back together until I got a new gasket in. I remembered about it when I took the T.B. off and saw it sitting there. Well once the T.B. was off and I realized I needed a gasket. I just went to the local toyota, ordered the gasket, and let the car sit until it came in 3 days later.

That's the thing I avoid letting the car sit because I have no other way of transportation, btw, I used rtv gasket maker and no more whistling, just that it still idles real rough, and it will sputter and run normally over and over, i'm starting to think I might have made a mistake putting my timing belt back on

^ second that. After u get the belt on. Roll the motor over twice and make sure marks still line up. 1 tooth off will make it run like crap. 2-3 teeth will keep it from starting.
