Exclamation Need help with 93 gs300

I bought a 1993 GS300 on aug 22nd and it ran perfectly until about 2 weeks ago it began to shut off while driving for no reason. My mechanic said it was some bad relays so he replaced them. Now it will start but only run for a couple miles and then the engine will shut off and i will have to pull out the efi and ig2 relays and put them back in for it to start up again. My mechanic thinks it may be a short somwhere but im not sure. Id appreciate any advice or help as to what this could be and how it can be fixed. Thanks.

Sounds like you have a short somewhere. I would check for a bad fuel pump ecu as well..

if it is a short, how do you check or how much does it cost to be checked?

Depends on where it is and how easy it is to get to. Electrical work can get expensive very quickly. I would look towards any aftermarket electronics first, and then examine the wiring near the main and fuel pump ecu's. I'd also check that all of the fuses in your fusebox are the correct amps.
