1993-1997 1st Gen GS CLEAR Headlight lenses in GLASS
Ok, I've seen some clear lens kits, and people removing the lines. BUT. There is a LOT of local craft guru's local to me, and lots of glassworkers. I'm pretty sure I could have a set of GLASS headlights made (remove old plastic, add glass).
BUt they wouldn't be cheap, would you guys be interested if the cost was like $350-ish?
Just gauging interest. If there's a lot, I'll try to find a person to do it. If not, I'll go sand down my lenses and remove the lines myself and say **** it.

If you can get a decent set made, installed and tested for several weeks or a couple months w/o leaking and such, you might have something good. Naturally, you'd have to get yours finished first. Secure the mold, find a way to produce to product. Figure out your profit margin and sell sell sell. I'll be down, I don't feel like going through the hassle. I made a set of lenses at home, came out really good but the plexi was too thin. Needed a strong vacuum to produce a quality piece. Not difficult, just some trial and error and of course some time. ENJOY!

there are also some made, except they're 2 piece lenses, meaning the signal light, and the high and low beams are seperate, so the front lights are devided into 4 pieces.

exactly,
and to the original poster,
they won't be that cheap, setting up the mold and finding the best way to do is going to be VERY costly.
there is a guy in Calgary,AB that is working on getting some made, but from plastic just like the stock ones, and his molds are done, and close to the cost of $8,000. he's just working on finding a material to make them from

A friend of mine knows a guy who works in a glass manufacturing plant, so I'm gonna buy a spare set of lenses when I have the money and send it to him and see how much it would be to have them copy them (maybe without the lines in it, so I'd have to sand down a set first). Would be $$ tho.

this topic seems to be covered tons of times and it always resurfaces.. its so funny..
botton line is they dont have a simple replacement like they do for the sc3/400..
BUT they do de-line(sand and polish) all the fluted lines off... it costs about 3-350
in japan(just for labor).
