Default Power Steering Leak

My power steering has been leaking for about 10 days now. I don't have the time for my car to be in the shop, so I have just been filling it up about everyday. But tonight, when I filled it up to go for a drive, the nose didn't stop and it sometimes felt like it didn't have any p/s fluid in it. When I pulled over to check, it still had plenty in it? Does anybody know what happened or am I going to have to take my car to my mechanic?

Where is it leaking from? Hose, pump, rack?

I had the same experience you did and it was leaking from the passenger side rack seal.

It is leaking from the pump, I think. I can't really tell my under carriage amd engine bay is so greasy and dirty.

Did you power steering start working normal again, or did you to fix the leak?

It sounds like you need a new power steering pump, it's only gonna get worse as the weather gets colder.

I had to replace the rack/seal since it was not holding pressure any more. The passenger side boot was already torn so you can see the fluid leaking from there every time I would top off the reservoir.

does you car push any smoke when you start it up either. if so your VCV valve would be jacked as well. Replacing isnt hard at all. I did it in mine and had never done any PS stuff before.

Hi, my car does the same thing as you explained. Pushes out a lot of smoke when I start it, and also I have to refill the power steering fluid every day. What is the VCV valve? How can I fix it? Can you please explain?
