Default Turbo Question

I currently drive the 2jz-GE (NA) WITH 160K and im looking to go turbo soon, But I was wondering How i should do this? Either I go with the single turbo supra upgrade or I swap to a 2JZ-GTE. The Single turbo upgrade would be significantly cheaper in my case, but My current engine has 160k miles on it, so im not sure if its worth it, the old drive train might also take away some power, But If i swap engines, while more expensive, I could get a low mileage tranny and engine...Any1 know what the Hp would be from a Single supra turbo on the stock engine and what the actual HP to the wheels on the 2jzgte, I need help choosing . (I dont wanna turbo my car and have it die soon on me). Also If i do the engine swap, Was it the water pump only that I needed to swap too? I saw the other post , but I was wondering if this is the only neccesarry one.

If you buy a NA kit, expect 260-280 wheels on CA gas before you need some upgrades. If you swap and run the twins that come with it, you can expect 350ish max. Either way, you will need to go through emissions.

the 2jz GTE can go 350 HP with its stock internals? So either way I'm going to have trouble passing smog tests huh? by the way are you the Kaiser who does the supra swaps in the Socal areas like the 909 and 626 area?

i was in the same position you were in, i was either going to go NA-T or buy a GTE, seeing as how my car has over 220,000 miles, i decided to buy a GTE, i think you should just buy the new engine, its more reliable imo.

How much did the full swap cost you? without the engine. I live around 40 miles of L.A. so if you know a reliable but not too costly place let me know plz

the gte can go way past 350hp on stock internals..more like 350KW )(which is almost 500 hp)

supra guys go 600 before they even think about internals

the autoboxes have seen failiure at 400whp,get upgraded parts for it and youll be good to go.
