Default MAF cleaned, car now stalls...

Hey guys. I just cleaned my MAF sensor with CRC cleaner and now my car stalls when i starts it up. It stays on for a while, revs up high, then low, then cuts out and dies. Did I mess the MAF up? I literally sprayed the inside with the CRC and almost drowned it cause there were soo much build-up inside of it. Did this ruin the sensor? It's cold here in Minnesota so I thought that maybe that caused the fluid to not completely dry causing the sensor to malfunction. ???? Please help. This is my daily driver.

You may have ruined the sensor by putting too much of the CRC in the MAF. Take it off again and clean it again, if it still does it, its most likely ruined.

Use some electric contact cleaner or computer keyboard cleaner and spray that in there.

I just did a dianostic test because my CEL was on, and indeed the MAF sensor is dead. I got a code 31, air flow meter signal. I guess some parts just don't want to be clean and rather be left alone. Huhhh...or it could've been the CRC product. DAMN CRC...

for sure that MAF sensor dead . You can not clean it with CRC. because CRC contained chemical make the pick up signal surface goes bad(melt). you can find the used one, price range 80-150.

mine did something similar, i cleaned it w/ some brake cleaner i think. The car kept stalling after idling for a bit, i found that running the a/c kept it from stalling, so after trying to figure it out for like an hour i just took it out on an empty road, and floored it revving the hell out of it and the problem was solved.

You can use brake cleaner (brake dust cleaner) but just on the red diode, but if you use it on those little strands that are inside the MAF sensor itself, kiss it goodbye. That is why computer keyboard cleaner or electrical contacts cleaner is a much better fit.
