Default Brake light on dash problem

What's up guys, i've done some searches and can't find the problem. When taking off from a stop, my brake light indicator comes on then goes away after 10 to 15 seconds. This happens everytime I come to a complete stop. Please let me know what's the problem.

Thanks,
- b

This keeps happening to me as well. When ever I check the brake lights they all seem to be working, but the dash indicator disagrees. Could this be an early indication that the lights have a short life ahead of them?

My GS, "Baby", has been doing this for about a month now!

Rear light indicator is amber colored
Brake light is red colored

If your amber rear light indicator is coming on, you have a bulb that is not working. If it is a tail light bulb (parking lamps) the indicator will come on when you turn lights on and will go off when you turn lights off. If it is a brake bulb not working it will turn amber light on when you press brake pedal and remain on until you turn key off.
If your red brake light is coming on when you come to a sudden stop or during a mild to hard acceleration then most likely your brake fluid is low. As you stop or accelerate it changes the actual level of the fluid in the resovoir. Make sure your brake fluid is at the full mark.

Good luck

If the brake fluid is low, you may wish to inspect for wear of the brake pads.
