Default Replacing timing belt on my 95...What else should I get done while in there?

I have a 95 with 100K and I will be replacing the timing belt next week. Besides the serpentine belt and timing belt, what else would you guys replace for preventative maintenance? I appreciate any responses!

Cool

you opened a can o worms Replace water pump, tensioner, cam and crank seals, check distributor o ring for leaking, I'd replace it anyways, it'll be gone soon. check radiator for leaks as they usually crack on the top around this time. Check engine and tranny mounts, replace if they haven't been done yet. flush tranny, power steering, brake fluid, if it hasn't been done. Flush coolant. Will save you trouble down the road.

I agree with turbo. Its best to do at once while the front of the engine is apart already

Check your alternator as well.

Don't replace anything except the two belts. I'd check everything, but the timing belt is so easy to replace (except for getting the crank pulley off - check my post on how to do it) there's no need to spend the hard cash to replace other things. Just check things out. You'll save yourself some hard cash and time.

Cool

It would be stupid not to replace the other things while you're in there or paying someone to do it for you. Unless you like to pay for things twice! Of course you'd check them, however, I'd replace the waterpump and tensioner and all fluids if they haven't been changed before without queston. You can pay for it now or you can pay for it later, you decide.

The tensioner alone is over $100. The water pump is also over $100. Anyone ever had a water pump go out on them?

Cool

The tensioner is $53 and the water pump is about $150, $200 is cheap insurance that you won't have to mess with it for another 80,000 miles nor worry about engine or cooling issues.

Hey everyone,
I finally got my timing belt done and just wanted to reflect my excitement! My 95 had 100,365 miles when we operated.
After getting everything replaced, I drove home on my 16 mile trip. The car drives so much nicer and smoother! The acceleration sounds and feels so much better also! My tech used the airhose to clean the radiator grill, which was covered with crap from over the years. I probably spent between $800-$900 in parts alone. I do feel much better now that my car should be good to go for another 80K+ or more. Thanks for all that helped me on this thread.
I had the following replaced since other parts were easily accessable during the timing belt replacement:

Timing belt
Timing belt idler pulley
Timing belt tensioner
Serpentine belt
Crankshaft seals
Camshaft seals
Valve cover gaskets
Distributor O'ring
Distributor cap
Rotor button
Thermostat
Water Pump
3 various O'rings on hoses that attach to water pump
Spark plugs (NGK platinum)
