gotta ? ok so i had to cut the ball thingy out. now i have the two nuts and the bolt on the trunk still but my strut is off. with those 2 nuts and 1 bolt how can i get them off?
it looks like the outside nut is welded @ four diffrent points. should i
a) drill out the remainder of the bolt itself
b) take it to lexus
c) SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

Im kinda bumed cuz the bolts are rounding off instead off coming off. and this "easy" project isnt easy anymore

I did a Google search for part number SG326003 and found some more on Amazon for about $32 a pair shipped
http://www.amazon.com/Stabilus-SG326.../dp/B000GZAWVG
and at theautopartsshop.com for $36 shipped

Great write-up, there's another one on this site that goes into more detail about which bolts are welded and which one's actually turn. Has a lot of photos too LOVE THIS FORUM!

I tried contacting the NVOconcepts company that has been mentioned in other posts and evidently their phones and email don't work. Is there a Mighty Lift or Strong Arm that kinda sorta works? Thanks!

I got a set from RockAuto.com for $29 for 89 Acura Legend. Worked perfectly... trunk pops up about one inch and with just a nudge, moves the rest of the way up. Why didn't i do this years ago!?! I would have saved myself a bunch of headaches (literally). One note though, after you get the old struts off (which takes some bending of the clip at front) you'll want to screw the ball piece into the bracket before attaching the strut to the ball... it's really tough to start the threads with the whole strut attaced to the ball piece. Thanks for the tips here!

The outside bolt stays on and the aftermarket bolt/ball should thread right on. The inside bolt is actually attached to the ball that goes into the strut and should be removed pretty easily ... lefty loosey. Good luck.

Man I love this site going to my local pepboys right now after I'm done reprinting my grill to pick up a set I'll post later on to see if it's still in the $25 range

Ok so update I went to my local pepboys and they were $25 dollars a piece so i bit the bullet and bought them went to install them in my car and it was missing the most important screw thing with the ball welded at the end. Called them up and the lady tells me if it came like that then thats how it is nothing we can do I was pissed went to advancded auto parts bought a set for $70 installed in 2 minutes flat went to return the other set at Pepboys and couldnt find the dam reciept so I ended up getting a $55 store credit........Theres a reason why pepboys does everything for less

I can't get the damn original lift supports off. I tried to take a wrench to the bolt on the inside (not the welded one), and it won't move. It's pissing me off... LOL.
