When doing an apples-to-apples comparison on the curb weight of the GS-F (4,034lbs) to a RC-F equipped with a TCD (4,0XXish lbs), the weight of both vehicles would be very close.
Which makes me wonder if putting a non-TVD diff with the OS Giken spool would be ultimately a better solution and drop significant weight. I have a suspicion I would like it better. As I drive the two cars more, I really think the more direct and violent nature of the ISF is really the spool and the way the car accelerates with it.

It always interested me that the ISF lightning lap was with the 2011 ISF, not the 2012+. I'm curious how the slightly wider wheels and further tweaked suspension in the 2012+ cars would have changed the times, if at all.

Also, did the 2011s come with the Bridgestones or the PSS? That would likely make a big difference on the lap time as well, since the later cars had the PSS.

And finally, it would have been really interesting had Lexus outfitted the ISF with proper wheels, tires and tire widths--had the car been engineered with a 245/275 combo of PSS tires on wider rims, the times might have been further reduced. It's somewhat shocking that they were able to get the times they did with those skinny 225 front tires, especially if they were the Bridgestones! The 225s are not confidence inspiring, to say the least.

^^^^You're preaching to the choir here, I have been saying for some time now that the ISF from the beginning to the end had undersized wheels and tires. With the RCF wheels and 255f/295r S-04s that I now have, my ISF handles so much better than it did with the stock pieces. As far as PSS, AFAIK, no ISF ever came from the factory with PSS tires. They all came with the PS2 or the Potenza that supposedly Lexus had a hand in designing.

Interesting about the oem tires. I guess because every ISF you see pictures of seems to have PSS, even low mileage ones--made me assume they moved to PSS in the later years when they came to market. The Potenzas were probably like riding on 215s, relative to the PSS 225s that tend to run a bit on the wider side!

But, it is almost shocking that the ISF came with those tires and sizes Standard--big miss that was thankfully corrected with the new F cars, even though that doesn't help us ISF guys much (unless like Lou you are running the new F wheels. Even the extra half inch on the 2012 wheels makes a big difference, as you can stuff 255s up front.

bringing this back up . The more i see the GSF in person, the more i like the styling. i wasn't too fond of it before but its growing on me . I guess the ISF and the RCF , both i loved the way it looked right away. GS-F is a person that looks good only in certain colors in person. its hard to capture good pics just like the rcf/isf. GS-F also has the best oem designed wheels in the F line up.

black and gunmetal GSF at the moment are the great lookers , especially if you have the orange calipers.
