Default Parking sensors?

Is there a way to turn on/off the parking sensor other than the steering wheel? I know you can do BSM and LDA on the infotainment but cannot find the parking sensors. Only reason I ask is my parking sensors won't turn on by using the steering wheel button so wondering if there's another method.

The parking sensors switch is in the center console.

I'm and idiot. I've been pressing the button on the steering wheel that has the car with the radar thinking it's for parking sensor.

The button on the steering wheel is for Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

So what have you been pressing for radar adjustments?

I haven't as I don't go into cruise mode often. I live on an island where traffic sucks and there isn't much roads to take advantage of cruise control

actually there is a silence button on the nav screen, but it rarely is clickable at times. IDK why though. On the very few rare occasions I am able to silence the parking sensors and most times its greyed out!

The Nav screen menu for Park Assist is for everything except On/Off.
You can change the range to minimize false alerts and turn of the dash
diagram. Not sure why you would want to but it's there. Most of these
menu items are grayed and disabled while moving "for your safety..."

Question on parking sensors, is there any reason you wouldn't leave them on all the time, shorter lifespan? I forget to activate them and back into my garage which is a pretty tight fit. Do most folks leave them on all the time or not?

I leave the sensors on all the time. When they are in use, they are only in use for 30 - 60 seconds most when parallel parking in a tight spot. I don't think leaving them on all the time will cause any longevity issues since i've had mine on constantly with no issues. When they are actually put to use, they are only in use for a few seconds at a time.

I believe the sensors are transmitting all the time if you have Park Assist on. They sound a few seconds at a time when you're getting in to the garage because you're getting close to an object but they should be transmitting all the time. That's why when you pull too close to a car at a light they sound right away.

When parking assist is on, they are active 100% of the time in drive (fronts) and reverse (fronts and rears). You'll hear the beep once something is close but they don't turn off when traveling at low speeds. I haven't heard of any sensors needing to be replaced due to excessive use so I think it should be ok!

Thumbs up

Thanks for the input on leaving the sensors on. Sorry I sort of hijacked the thread, but at least it was related! :-)
