Default Options for rotors/pads?

So my GS has the squealing brakes but obviously my dealership refuses to address the problem saying it is a "wear/tear" item. I rather replace it before warmer weather gets good.... Any good suggestions?

I just did EBC green stuff on my wife's RX and the initial bite is so much better than stock. I'm planning on doing the same on my GS once it warms up a little.

F sport or base? Rotor options are a bit more limited for the F sport (2 piece rotor) and most tend to go with an oem rotor replacement. For pads, I'm biased towards ceramics due to the low dust. A big fan of the Akebonos.

i'm in the same boat as you. brakes aren't squealing, but it's time for new rotors and pads for the fronts. nobody seems to do aftermarket for the f sport rwd. i know that a couple of people are using akebono act1118 (i believe) and one of my friends mentioned custom rotors, but turnaround plus being without rotors is a no go. about to just suck it up and get some new oem ones. found some good prices on lexuspartsnow.com not sure how legit they are, but after doing some searching they seem ok. hopefully somebody with experience will chime in!

I do have the same question. Mine is a 2013 GS 350 AWD F sport. 34K miles and all four of my rotors and pads need to be replaced. Toyota dealer quoted me for 1300 (OEM).

Personally I haven't tried any aftermarket brakes yet, but I'm open to it if it's an upgrade. Also I drive in city a lot and kind of aggressive during traffic, can someone tell me which type should I go for? Slot? Drill? I will check on all the links you recommend, thanks!

Any input is largely grateful!

If you think the brakes are sufficient, go for ceramics. If you want better stopping power, I highly recommend EBC Yellow. What a huge improvement from stock brakes

I would go with regular OEM rotors that are not slotted or drilled and pair them with a set of Stoptech streets or sport pads. I am currently running the street pads and stopping is very linear with no fade.

Honestly, if I can get away with OEM rotors and nice bite on pads, I don't care at that point. I have F sport AWD so options are limited.

I had Akebonos on my CLS55 AMG...even though brake dust was VERY low, brake power was terrible.

How about the rotors? Do you have anything that is on Amazon and sold as a set that fit f sport awd?

I've struggled with excessive brake dust since buying my 2013 GS350. I did a brake change a few weeks ago and decided to try Akebonos. Outstanding! The pads are ceramic (for real, apparently) and there is virtually no dust visible.

I have a standard GS350. When I had the car up to rotate tires I noticed that my brake pads were worn, so I went to AutoZone for pads since I didn't have time to shop around. Not sure which Akebono pads I used, but they were around $70. In addition to virtually no dust, the bite is much better as well.

I used the Akebono Proacts. Check this thread for other users reviews: Akebono vs Centric vs Brembo vs Stoptech - Brake Pads
