Default Rear seat room?

Do I'm in the market for a new family car. How is the space in the rear for those with kids. I have 3 kids. 10.. 5.. and 5months. So a booster and a car seat for sure.
Or should I save a little more and go for the ls460 or ls460l

I would most definitely not consider it. Go with the ES or LS...

Lol is it really that small? I had a gs350 8 years ago but don't remember how the leg room was at all.
My ls430 was pretty spacious

IMO, the space is definitely adequate. I plan to have kids soon and took this into consideration (and why I went for the GS instead of the IS). You may just have to visit a dealer and check one out and see for yourself.

ES would be my bet. The rear floor is almost flat because of FWD, no drive shaft tunnel. In fact, the amount of rear legroom is almost the same as the regular wheelbase LS, and more than the GS for sure.

LS is really designed for 1-2 executives in the rear, not 3 kids.

For LS money, you can buy an ES for shuttling the kids, AND a GS for fun drives and night outs(w/o kids of course). Best of both worlds

The GS doesn't have very good rest legroom, especially with the transmission tunnel going down the center floor. Depending how long you keep the car, it would work for a bit until your kids become teens. You would be safer to get the LS460L for comfort.

Consider maybe an ES? The backseat is huge, no transmission tunnel, and cheaper.

Agreed, consider the ES if you're going for backseat comfort. Unless you want to pay the LS price of course.

Don't get a GS. Its a 4 seater car, the middle backseat is not a seat.

I sat on the back seat of 2015 ES few days ago and it definitely felt more spacious compared to the cramped up leg space of GS. I love the cushy ride of the LS but it's too big for my style, besides I am keeping a GX when I go out with the kids.

The ES has considerably more legroom in the back seat than the GS. I have an almost 4 year old. When I was looking at whether to buy the ES or the GS, the GS was my first choice. However, the car seat had to fit. So, the first test was to put his seat in the back to check the leg room. It fits fine, but I have to keep the front passenger seat pretty far up to give him enough legroom and to lessen the chance of him kicking the front passenger seat. My wife is about 5'3", so this usually isn't an issue. When we are in the car without my son, we roll the front seat back. With his seat in place, The middle seat is pretty uncomfortable, but the rear left seat is fine.

As others have said, I think with your three children, it would be a tight fit. The RX might be a good choice too. I strongly preferred the GS when I was buying, and went with it because before long he'll be in a booster seat and he rides in my wife's CRV more often. With that said, a taller teen or adult might be uncomfortable in the back, as has been the case with several friends and coworkers.

The GS350 is going to feel cramped for the kids in the back. Especially the one in booster will likely be kicking the front seat back fairly often. Go with the ES, or the LS if you want to stick to Lexus. They will probably not be as sporty to drive, but your kids will probably thank you for it.
(You may be able to get away with it if you only use your GS for short drives)

The back middle seat would be the problem since it has a large hump on the floor, so it makes the entire legroom in the back look smaller in size. I agree, ES would be the way to go to maximize rear legroom space for a family of 5.

I have lots of room in my GS back seat with one forward facing convertible seat and one booster seat, but squeezing in a third kid would be tough. If you check one out, be sure to install all car seats for the test drive so you can draw your own conclusions. Good luck!
