How to check Oil Life?
I bought a 2013 Lexus GS 450h
How do you check the engine oil life?
I checked the maintenance in the nav screen and it looks like the oil life was never set since the last oil change.
Is there a way to see this on the dash? Like on a onda it will show a percentage for oil life?

I'm wondering so myself. On my Honda I have a percentage.
The dealership did enter 10K miles on the Maintenance screen when I did my oil change a couple of weeks ago.
It is counting down as I drive.

The GS does not have an oil life monitor. Just a maintenance reminder light for the 5k services.

From a GS450h owner to another - use high quality full synthetic oil. Change it at 70K miles (I believe you wrote that your vehicle is over 66K miles). Then change the oil every 10K miles (per Lexus recommendation/owner's manual) - it will be easy to remember at that point, every 10K miles.. so 80K, 90K, etc; no need to even bother setting a "reminder" (or "countdown".. whatever you want to call it) imho.

May not be related to what you are looking for. However you can actually get a test run on oil to see the condition of various things like wear on the engine. It can reveal if there are certain metals inside the oil from the engine etc.

Alot of the BMW guys have used it in the past, its pretty cool to have the report. The engine wear may not be as much of a issue on these cars.

I bought this TBN tester off Amazon for about $50.
Most oil life monitors I know of are based on mileage, maybe a couple are based on engine operating conditions and mileage, none are actively testing the oil condition.

You get a sample of the oil by feeding a tube into the dipstick tube. Clean it off with rubbing alcohol and you can use it repeatedly. Most oil life monitors I know of are based on mileage, maybe a couple are based on engine operating conditions and mileage, none are actively testing the oil condition.
