Auto Folding Mirrors
Hey guys i just got a new 2013 Lexus GS350 and i've seen some other GS's and that their mirrors fold in and out based on locked or unlocked. My car dosent do that. Does anyone know how to make this happen?

Also would like to know if it's possible to install auto folding mirrors on a 2013.

U can probably do it with a manual switch but not automatic like the 14 cause u will need to program the ECU for that.

Because I personaly had this feature added to my 2010 Lexus RX 350 2 years ago in Vietnam. The guys got the used motor from other cars and add them into the mirror, he also made a switch to one of the empty one in there incase i need to fold or open manually. He did not have to program anything at all. Total cost was $100. Mind you the labor was cheap over there.
I would say it is very similar on GS 350. So i can be done.

I am not one to tinker with my car much, but i would very much be interested if at all possible to truly have power folding windows retro-fitted on the '13s. It's the biggest thing i feel like i am missing with this car. I live downtown, so it would come in very handy.
One of the things all my friends say about my car is how fully loaded it is. They have a pretty shocked look on their face when i say i agree, except the mirrors don't fold!

I was looking into this to retrofit the auto folding when I got my car last May. But I have busy schedule and have not continued my research. I can contribute my knowledge so far by providing the following parts link.

Maybe it is possible to install the auto-folding mirrors if we buy the right parts from 2014+ GS and fit them to our 2013 model. Any input from electrical engineer guru or who works at Lexus service department is welcome.

Another view on folding mirrors. Probably great when in your garage. I've got them on a 2014 F-Sport. I find when I fold them in public parking, if people walk by my car, they get very close to it and even brush against it. With the mirrors not folded, they tend to stay away from contacting the panels walking by. FWIW
