Default Moonroof gets stuck

What's up folks, so my moonroof gets stuck on hot days and if sitting out in the sun (75+). I click the button and I can hear the latch engaging, but the moon roof does not slide at all. I live in Houston so heat is inevitable. I wanted to see if anyone else is having the same issue.

What year? Do you need to clean the tracks or lube the seals? Does it operate normally when it is cooler (<75 degrees)? Or it doesn't operate at any temperature?

I haven't heard of this issue. Very strange though. Are you covered under warranty still?

It's a 2014, it only happens when its 70-75+ and has been sitting out in the sun. When it's a cool day and not in the sun, it works great,.

Ok, update on this nagging issue. My moon roof no longer opens automatically and now it's making some weird noises. I've got a serious problem. Anyone have any recommendations or thoughts?

It sounds like it is something you probably cannot fix. Why not make an appointment and take it to your Lexus dealer?

It seems that way for me too, real big bummer. It's a $2,000 to replace the whole unit. I can't justify that..

Since it is a 'body part' (in lieu of drivetrain) you may want to speak with a body shop about it...
