Default Odor from rear of 2014 GS350 after long climbs

I noticed this on two occasions. After climbing steep hills for 10 minutes or more, I can smell what smells like overheating fluid from the rear of the car. It is particularly strong around the rear wheels. Any ideas on what this might be? Having owned an 89 Honda Accord with overheating transmission problems, the smell reminds me of the odor when the tranny fluid overheated. This is a CPO car which i have owned for three months.

It happened once at the top of Crenshaw in Palos Verdes and again at the top of Lake Street in Pasadena. Both streets are steep climbs and i was going around 40 mph up. South Bay Lexus inspected my car but noticed nothing wrong. I am thinking about taking it back there and requesting that the service manager go with me up Crenshaw so that he can smell the odor.

Does it have like a burning plastic/rubber type of smell? I had a smell coming from mine I was trying to figure out I first smelled when I got it delivered.

Make sure there isn't a plastic bag stuck on the exhaust.

I would have it inspected by another mech, get another opinion. I'd say it's your parking brake.

This is what i am guessing it might be....I do not smell the odor unless I have been going up a steep grade for 15-20 minutes. I am smelling it around the wheels, but next time i will crawl under the car and see if it might actually be coming off the differential.

If you are referring to the undercoating that comes on new cars then this is a slightly different odor.
