Default Seat Belt flys off when passenger unbuckles

I have had my 2016 GS 350 F sport for about 2 months now and I have noticed that whenever I have a passenger in the car and they unbuckle their seat belts it flys off and hits the window. This has caused some dings in my tint and I was wondering if anyone else has this issue or if anyone know the cause? Tired of getting mad at my wife about it .

Thanks in advance!

1. Get rid of the wife.
2. Once you find a successor, take the pleasure to unbuckle her(and no I don't mean her seat belt).

I have noticed that aswell seat belt buckle flys and hits the glass or the door trim and I have bunch of dings on it. Lexus acknowledges this design problem and have a enhancement tsb out to replace the door trims for free.

Tell them to hold the buckle when pushing the release button.

I mean....i feel like this is the case with most cars. TO me, it's more of an issue with the passenger themselves versus the car. My wife also just lets the seatbelt go like it's no big deal...I cringe when this happens. But when my buddies who "get it" take off the their belt, there is no issue.

Look on the bright side... its better than a seatbelt that won't self retract and just hangs there getting caught on the door jam.

Makes a lot of sense.

Same advice from me. My experience in multiple cars is that it's the passenger's technique, or lack thereof, causing the issue. Happens on the driver's side too.

For people who rarely ride as a passenger, the buckling and unbuckling on the opposite side can be awkward.
