I have noticed that my 16 GS' Homelink system need to be quite close to the garage before it opens. In my 14 IS, the button seemed to open the door at a much further distance.
I haven't noticed a difference between my 14 IS and 15 GS, which both operate at a pretty big distance. I don't know if they made changes to it in the 16+ GS.
