Help With Alternate Tire Size Please.
Hi All,
I have a set of rather expensive winter tires that I don't want to put to waste. The size of them is 225/45/R17, assuming I can get a rim that size for the GS would they be okay to use?
Thanks!

Sell them on Kijiji or Craigslist.

For 17's, you need to go at least 225/50R17. Your size is more than 5% smaller than stock size(rule of thumb is within 3%). You'll have lower ground clearance(not good for snow), and I highly doubt the 225/45R17 tires will even meet the load rating required for our cars.
Sell them on Kijiji or Craigslist.

All the info regarding tire size and rim size, geometry of suspension system can be found on the net. In addition to size, load rating, speed rating matters too.
