On startup, the Navigation screen goes black
About 6 months or so ago, I noticed that upon startup of the car, the navigation screen would sometimes stay black for a good 10-15 seconds maybe every 1 out of 3 startups. I made an appt and took my car into service, to only be told that some iHeart update screwed up the system and that they needed to perform a reset.
6 months later the issue still exists. Took the car in again, and was told the black screen lasting this long is "normal". However, I don't think so. Anyone else have this strange issue?

About 6 months ago, my NAV screen went completely black because of some update that went wrong.However, my issue happened at every startup. What I did to fix was to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and that seemed to reset and all was back to normal. Of course, when you disconnect the battery, some settings are lost. Hope that helps.

From my experience, I have a 2013 GS, the screen start-up delay is caused by the XM Data Services. I had stopped XM all together for about 6 months, and the delay went away completely. Once, I reactivated XM, the delay came back.
