Default Drafty foot well on 2014 F-Sport.

My CPO Lexus GS-350 has been wonderful for the 2 months+ I've owned it. Here's the issue: The foot well on the driver's side (not able to check passenger side yet) is very drafty. When it was 36 degrees outside, for example, with heater on and even set it to blow down and out the dash vents, the foot well area is like the outside air. Feels like an ice cube on cold mornings. I arrive at work and my lower pant legs are cold and my feet are really cold. Any ideas? I called the Lexus Dealer Service Dept and was told - "we've never heard of that". It's not due for maintenance for 3+ months but it will be a long 3 months if I do nothing. Here in Portland, Oregon so at least it doesn't get really cold.

I am no expert, but a few things that come to mind are:
  • Make certain the recirculate/outside air mode is set to AUTO or recirculate. If it is set to OUTSIDE, you'll be getting just that...cold outside air.
  • There's also an option for AIR OUTLET SELECTOR. Again my choice would be AUTO, but perhaps you have all the warm air coming out of the top vents only. You mention "set it to blow down" towards the foot-well, can you feel ANY warm air coming out in that area? Perhaps change it so air ONLY comes out in the foot-well area...just as a test to see if the ventilation system is working properly.
  • Lastly, you may want to check the door seal (molding) around the driver's door. It should be easy to see if there is a misaligned and/or damaged area. That certainly would let cold air enter around your feet.

Good luck.
