The Interstate Mega-Tron batteries are all excellent - especially the Mega-Tron Plus in you live in a cold climate area.

They all have an excellent warranty and free replacement period.

I think the original Panasonic battery is rated at 580 Cold Cranking Amps for comparison purposes for anyone living in a cold climate.

The higher the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) in batteries of the same group size (Group Size 24 for the GS 350) the more likely they will have trouble if used in high temperature climates. Higher CCAs are gotten by packing more plates into the battery - more plates require less space between them. High temperatures within the plates can make the plates warp and it is possible for the plates to break through their 'envelope' and come into contact with each other producing a shorted-out cell in the battery. This is more likely to happen in batteries in which the plates are closer together.

In a hot climate it might be more desirable to have a battery with a lower CCA, rather than a higher one (which Interstate Batteries recommends). Contrary to what the people who live in a cold climate might believe, the heat is what kills a battery. Sure, an expired battery might not show up until it's 10 degrees below zero, but the damage was done in the hot summer.

Keep in mind that there are not a whole lot of different battery manufacturers, as they all have a number of different brand names associated with them.

I think Lexus uses interstate batteries, but you pay twice the price you would anywhere else.

I need a new battery so this thread is very helpful. My car wouldn't start last saturday (3 years old) but then after about an hour I went to start it again and it barely had enough to crank the car. So far Im still using that battery but Im going to get it replaced.

Isn't the Lexus OEM battery supposed to be better, because it is said to be more in pure silver, hence last 4-5 years.
While ordinary batteries have impurities in their silver, so only last 2 years or so - is that right???
Or impurities in their lead acid?

I'd get the Interstate Mega-Tron II since your car is more exposed to the high Texas heat in lieu of cold temperatures.

Lexus batteries have blinker fluid inside them. It's the sticker that matters most so that when people look underneath your hood they know you have a Lexus battery!
