Default Clear coat issue

Hi All;

I noticed that the clear coat is coming off in 2 places on my 2015 GS with 10,300 miles on it. One spot is above the right/rear passenger door on the edge of the roof and the other is on the hood, just about 2 to inches from the front edge. Anyone had similar problems and what did Lexus do for you? Thanks.

Hard to tell from the pictures but that looks like etching from bird droppings. Did you buy the car new? I suggest you post this on the detailing forum.

Check this thread out.

I agree. Looks like bird poop not cleaned up quick enough and etched the paint.

Did you take it to the dealer yet ? I'm sure with the car being that new they should fix it, if it's really clear coat peeling, but as others suggested you probably need 2000 grit sandpaper and a rubbing compound. I think it should take care of it.

I would not recommend sanding your car, unless you know what you're doing. Let a professional detailer handle it.
