Default Options

Anyone spring for options (or just have) that they don't use?

I'm pretty intrigued by all of the tech onboard and use them as conditions make them available. I'd say the least used function I utilize is Sport+. Would love to let it eat more, I really just don't have the "space". Everything else though...yeah. Used.

Your thoughts?

I don't think I have any options that I don't use. Personal favorites are the heated steering wheel, seat cushion extender, and rear sunshade.

The heated/cool seats are always a good way to cool off or warm up fast. BSM are almost a u must for the narrow mirrors these vehicles have. Parking assist is nice, especially reverse pulling out of a parking spot and someone is coming, the alerts are just right to alert me to brake.

None, got a loaded '13 with ML, HUD and rear wheel steering. I use everything. Nav is kinda unreliable because I never coughed up $250 to update it and there are 3 apps on my phone that do it for free with fresher data. Still, when I'm wandering around somewhere new, I'll zoom in and check streets, plot a course, use the "bread crumb trail" tracing function, etc.

Now if we want to talk about apps, that's another story, I only use maybe 2 out of all of them. Pandora and saved destinations. They should have had Spotify years ago.

Nav, voice recognition, rear sunshade, BSM, heated/ventilated seats, heated steering wheels, leg extension, TPMS, are options I'm so glad I have and use every chance I get.

I could do without moon roof and I have never used any of the apps or Enform.

all I wish I had as an additional option would be the folding mirrors.. everything else is fine..

the side mirrors when setup correctly wouldn't really need a blind spot indicator although it is pretty cool when someone else is coming up on you and they see it coming on..

parking assist is also a nice touch but thats what back up cameras are for.

Speaking of blind spot warnings, am I the only one who has noticed Mercedes has these lit up all the time? Makes me wonder how they're supposed to function.

I haven't seen them on all of the time, but I have noticed that the MB ones work even when the car is stopped, whereas our Lexus/Toyota ones only operate above 5 mph or so.

OK. I prefer this way better then. Having them lit when you're stopped seems like it would train you to ignore them.

Agreed.

Every day on my way home from work I drive past a ferry lane on my right. Cars will be lined up, waiting in that line while local traffic (me) drives past on the left. I notice on some cars, their BSM lights in their left side mirrors are going on and off while we drive by. It would bug me.

I absolutely love this feature! Once you get used to it, it's hard to drive a car without it.

when activated, it'll hold the brake for you, without your foot on the brake. Good for at a red light or in heavy traffic.
