Hi, I have a 2013 GS350 F-Sport and Lexus said my breakpads needed to be replaced on the front ($300 quote....also asked local toyota dealership and they quoted $290). Upon taking looking at the rotors they said they needed to be replaced (appx $300 a piece they said since they are "specialty two piece"). Does this quote seem reasonable and do rotors usually have to be replaced after 55K miles?

You can check this out but I think most of us know these brakes/rotors are costly. A Lexus advisor told me I should go non f-sport to avoid this issue. Non F-sport GS350 to me look too much like a ES350 lol.

sounds like normal at 55K to replace GS Fsport rotors, people here had to replace or resurface them earlier. I would recommend to find them separately including break pads from tirerack.com "stoptech" and do it somewhere else, this is not something special, any other shops can do it cheaper at labor rates.

Just do the repair yourself. There's a very good DIY down a few threads. The pads are like 50 or 60 bucks.

looking on MyLParts and notice the front rotors are $77 for AWD (doesn't say F sport or non-F sport version) and the RWD F-sport version is $240. Are AWD rotors for the fronts the same F-sport and non-F-sport? What's the difference?

AWD F-Sport is not the 14" rotors that they have on the RWD.

Just as a comparison point. We just had all 4 brakes replaced on my wife's RX350. She has 72,000 miles on it. For OEM brakes to last 72,000 miles is phenomenal. Also, they did NOT need to replace the rotors, they just turned them. So replacing brakes and rotors on the GS at 55,000 miles seems like overkill....

Dealership quoted me $1500 for all new rotors and brake pads. I went to a shop and got slotted rotors and akebono brake pads installed for considerably less.

The OEM rotors on these cars suck. Mine were so rusted at 40k miles that they were pushing on the backing plate and making this god awful grinding noise when turning and just looked terrible.

$900 seems quite steep to me. There are many, many other lower cost options especially if you can do it yourself. Here's a potential upgrade: Stoptech pads and rotors for less than $275:

I am not saying to "go cheap" on your brakes, but shop around and you'll be able to cut the dealer quote by half.

I replaced the first set of pads and rotors at 11k miles. I was flabbergasted. I'm around 73k miles and I've since replaced the pads but haven't touched the rotors. I'm getting some vibrations though...

Your wife obviously is easy on the brakes. Most women are hard on brakes like mine. A lot of people do sudden stops which wears them out quicker and warps rotors.

How much did you end up paying? Did you buy the parts and have the shop install. thanks for all the details

Those are AWD or RWD non-f-sport rotors. They are reasonably priced.
