Touch-Up Paint - How to use it?
Hello:
I've got a 2015 GS450h, Rivera Red, with a couple of small "road rashes" (scratches). I purchased 2 bottles of touch-up paint: 3S8BC (base coat) and 3S8.
3S8 is very dark red, like the car.
3S8BC is a watery red.
How do I use these 2 items together? base coat first? Last? Not at all?
Thanks,
T.V.

Base coat goes on first and then the top coat. Allow some time for the BC to dry before applying the top coat. My GS 350 is white which also requires a base coat and top coat but for a small chips, I've just used the base coat. When I applied the top coat, it just didn't seem to match that well. The base coat alone is a bit bright but it looks better than both applied - in my case.
Not sure if you would have the same issue with your color. Just experiment a bit on a small area of one of the scratches and see if you can just use the base coat or need to use both. Good luck.

I just purchased touch up paint for my 2013 riviera red too. I got 3S8 but on 3S8BC. Do I need this too or is it optional? Did the dealer tell you to apply it also because I didn't even know that existed.

i have a white 15 GS. Touch up came with a basecost and clear top coat. at least for this color, ive learned to use as little of the top coat as possible. I mean just barely a layer. This may not have anything to do with your thread and red GS's. lol. but figured id chime in
