I finally did it. Got about 25K miles and my front pads looked like this.



And this is the OEM part number that I used, the exact same pads as the ones came with the car. Made by Textar.

To anyone attempting this without a lift. Before you even start, make sure to put the hand brake on.I had in instance when I forgot, and the car almost crashed my foot with the rotor when it fell to the ground.

Yes, the rotors should last longer if u change ur pads more often, meaning don't wait until they're completely worn out. I think I can get 3 pads life before replacing my rotors. They're still thick even at 25k miles.

nice video, although i'd highly recommend a hydraulic jack as those scissor jacks are super flimsy and with too much force on working with wrenches, that can twist and fall.

It should last that long as you as you don't resurface them, like BMW's.

These rotors are not supposed to be resurfaced?

If ur not having problems like vibration or pads wearing unevenly, then no need to resurface. That's just one fast way to get new rotors.

But u may need to resurface if u get different pads but if u stick with OEMs then no.

I am just glad I swapped out my pads at 5k miles with some autozone cmax gold pads...20k miles later my brakes have a ton of life left in them and my wheels are clean

It's good practice to apply caliper lube(silicon type) to the back of the pads to reduce squeaks.
