..and upsizing to 245 is better how?

i can’t stand it when local tire place tries to sell a different size tires because it’s the only size in stock..
they tried it once to my sister.. I felt bad for the people getting suckered in...

My comment ("That's only a factor if you track the car or take it to the drag strip...") was in reference to you saying that the larger [bigger] tire is heavier...and causes worse acceleration.

The last set of tires I had were the same +1 oversize. I specifically wanted the same +1 size for my newest set. No one sold me on a different size tire... I like the looks of the +1 size, that is why I got them before and again now.

Got it.. if it’s looks you want, you may be correct..

for track/performance, you are 1000% better off with summer tires... make that 10000%

A Lexus GS 350 is not the kind of car I would even remotely consider worthy of tracking or taking to the drag strip. It's just a very nice luxury car that has a bit of performance...nothing special in terms of true performance.

I could care less what the wheels or tires weight on my GS 350. Hell, I've probably got over 100 pounds of golf related stuff (staff bag, golf clubs, golf *****, shoes, umbrellas, clothes, etc.) in my trunk. Why should I care if my +1 tires weight a few pounds more than OE size tires? Why would I want summer-only performance tires on a heavy 4-door luxury sedan with gobs of sound-deadening insulation and a bunch of heavy motorized features? Makes no sense to me!

My tire size comes only in 'V'. Sometimes I need to get to the golf course really fast!

Please keep us posted about your opinions concerning these tires. I just bought a used 2013 GS450h with Firestone Champion 235/45 R18s all around. I do not like these tires, and would like to replace them with something quieter and more comfortable riding. From what I have read, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS Plus may be exactly what I a looking for. Thanks in advance if you could give an update about whether your Pirelli's are quiet riding.

I just returned from having my wheel alignment checked - something I do whenever I get new tires. I'm glad to report that the alignment was [still] perfect, which didn't surprise me because the previous tires wore evenly (although they had extreme premature wear) and the car drives straight and true.

As for the new Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS Plus tires. They are still too new to really give much meaningful feedback on them, but they seem to be what everybody says - very quiet and provides a comfortable ride. They seem to provide excellent steering response on dry pavement ... I have not driven in rain on wet pavement yet. The Pirelli tires are definitely much quieter going over Botts' dots (lane markers) in the road, which is something that surprised me because I would have thought that most any tire would sound-off about the same when hitting those raised lane marker dots.

I fully suspect I will be happy with these tires like 99.9% of the people that have them installed on their vehicles. The tire has excellent reviews. Thus far, though very early in the journey, I am very pleased. I'm sure I'll provide updates as time goes on.

I've had Pirelli Cinturato P7 A/S Plus for more than a year now, and I can tell you that compared to the OEM Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050 in 235/45R18 94W, the P7's are both noticeably softer and quieter, but not as adhesive as the OEM sporty Dunlop Sport Maxx 050's, though reasonably adhesive for everyday driving.
