Default Anyone running OSRAM CBI's on the 4GS?

I am getting these delivered to "whiten" up the stock HID's a bit...

Hoping to hear that it's worth a fight changing the bulbs.

I just installed osram 5k cool blue bulbs on my GS. They give a whiter light than the oems, with no hints of blue, maybe they need to get burn in with more hours of usage. (Sorry for the quality) Here are some pics:

thanks man.. they seem a bit whiter than the OEM.. exactly the looks I am going for.

Do you like it?

I'll probably install it over the weekend, hopefully.

I'll try to take before and after pictures at different angles.

Where did you buy these and did you get D2S or D4S?

Folks interested in upgrading their headlights might also consider Osram Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimiteds. Same manufacturer, but they focus on putting down maximum brightness rather than simply pumping out a higher CCT. There's an allowable range of lumens that can be be generated by a legal D4S lamp, and my understanding is that the NBUs sit at the top of that range and the CBIs are at the bottom. (IIRC the Singapore market had some product data sheets backing this up.)

Just be careful not to correlate bluer light with brighter light. It might look cool, but it isn't necessarily better.

Edit: Whoops, I was conflating Philips and Osram. It's Philips that has a Singaporean lighting website with proper specifications for their automotive lamps - you can watch luminous flux and lifespan go down as CCT goes up. The standard D4S xenons put out 3200+/-450 lumens and have a 97% chance of making it to 1,500 hours (37% chance to 2,500), whereas the 6000K ones put out 2700+/-400 lumens and have a 97% chance of making it to 800 hours (37% chance to 1,500).

Fair observation, but the CBIs command a premium over other HIDs because it puts out more lumens than stock. Or so I hear.

I learned my lesson on cheap good looking lights from Retrofit Source X series bulbs. Looked good, performed like crap

I'm a fan of the Osram D4S CBI bulbs. We also carry Philips 6000k D4S bulbs, but they are not as bright.
