New Lexus owner!!! Couple questions!
Hello guys!
I just purchased a 2014 GS 350 and new to the club! The ride is super nice and comfortable yet FAST. I look forward to have long trouble free ownership!
I have couple questions that my used car dealer couldnt answer.
1) It seems like oil change is due every 10k, does it use synthetic oil or special filter? By reading some threads, most recommend going to Toyota dealership for cheaper pricing.
2) My key fob is not programmed to have the windows down when holding the "open" button for 5-30sec. Would the lexus dealer reprogram thia for me even though i didnt pirchase this car from them? Would they charge me??!
Thanks guys in advance!!!

The oil change I would recommend in every 5K and if u want to do it at 10 k its up to u, and the filter just get it from dealer its only $6 and oil use 0-20 Mobil 1 and u can do it urself or take it to the dealer. The key fob yes take it to the dealer and they will charge you for it.

1. Synthetic 0W-20 oil and Lexus/Toyota OEM filter should last 10K miles under normal driving conditions
2. You can also purchase the Carista app and a compatible OBD2 dongle to program the windows behavior yourself

Thanks guys for your responses!
Called the Lexus dealer today and they are going to reprogram my key for free.
Got these quotes. $99.99 fat Lexus dealer or $69.99 at Toyota dealer.
Thanks again!

Idemitsu makes the oil for Toyota, get jugs of that stuff, some OEM filters. If you can't DYI take it to your local mechanic he will only charge you labor and disposal fees. I save well over $100/per oil change going this route. The Dealership can get pricey.

I too am a new owner and have a couple of questions.
Is there anyway to close the trunk from the keyfob and/or the button inside the vehicle?
Can BSM be configured to give an audible warning (instead of just the flashing indicators on the mirror)?
When using the navigation, how/where do I see the ETA? I noticed that it lists how many minutes the trip will take, but no ETA?
Thanks in advance!

Dallas, re. the BSM, I am also new to GS and I am loving it but I miss the audible warning from my former Mazda 6. I don't think you can get audible in the Lexus

Congrats!
1. Yes
2. Yes and Not always. I'd recommend get a key programming with an oil change or warranty repair. It was free for me.
Here's a form to fill out and hand over to your service associate. Go to page 4, check box no. 26 "All Windows Will Roll Down = ON".

Hope this helps!
