The new ride!

You guys have been very patient with me and I appreciate that. Trust that I have reviewed the owner's manual and only ask questions here when I cannot locate the information myself.
On my previous cars, there has been much, much more detail on the map screen. Almost like a satellite image. Any way to get more detail on the GS's screen?
Also, I took a trip yesterday that was about 100 miles long. I LOVE the seats, climate control and stereo.
However, the ride is rather firm...even in the normal mode. My two past cars were both BMW 5 series (Acura RL before those), so I am not accustomed to anything too cushy (just as a point of reference). Even my wife commented on the stiff ride. With the GS we FELT every road undulation. This was VERY evident in a particular stretch of highway while cruising around 70mph. My previous cars would absorb much more of the road imperfections.
I appreciate that fact that there is no "floating", but this is borderline harsh. Do I just need to get used to it or could there possibly be something wrong? Granted I have the 19" wheels with 40 series tires, but that's what my BMW's both had and my wife's current SUV (which rides like a magic carpet, lol).

While tires may make some difference, I think the new F Sport like 19" wheel option killed the smooth ride from the luxury. I had a 13 Luxury which came with 18". The normal ride/cruise was totally different from the F Sports. I had to get Michelins on the F Sports to compensate the ride but it's still significant different. You gain some loose some. Your wife's SUV 19" has a lot more rubber
Peteharvey did some extensive looking into this. He may have some insight for you. But I think it's the wheel size (mostly) and the tire quality.

The good news/bad news, is that the Dealer put brand new tires on the car when I purchased it. They are Bridgestone RE050A. Not rated as the best for noise, comfort nor tread life. BUT they are new and I have no plans on ditching them until they are worn out.
I still say it feels like the rear shocks are too stiff but maybe I'll feel different in a month or so after many more miles.

Another thing I notice is on 18", psi is recommended to be 32-33 while it's 35-36 on F Sport. What's recommended on the new luxury 19"? Some dealers always give you a lot more than you want. Mine always came back with 4-5 extra psi after service.

i have a '13 lux package 45k miles. the ride is firm. WAY more firm than i expected it to be as well....its my main complaint about the car, that and no sunglass holder or places to put anything lol. its also why i barely use sport +. its also why my tires are at 27-29 psi......however all lux package and f sport felt that way. i even drove a '13 rx350 and the ride was super harsh and you felt every single crack in the road....wtf. i had a loaner IS200t and that ride was perfect.

Lead Lap
Tires and inflation do make a big difference. When you're ready for new tires/want to "soften" the ride, look into some Pirelli Cinturato P7's - night and day difference between the stock bridgestones/dunlops. You may give up a little handling/grip but its a good balance.
