I've started to realize that on hard acceleration, the AC briefly gets warm. What would be the cause of this? I'm scared for your responses since I have no warranty...

Nope, no Eco here. Ever. I've had the car since 2012 and I've never noticed this until recently.

It's okay - very typical. Auto A/Cs are made to turn Off the compressor at high RPM (under WOT) or under heavy load based on the parameters set by the car maker.

100°+ here in Dallas...

Yep it's brutal this year, and the rain lately is actually making it worse. My windows had fog on the outside all night last night.

So my battery of less than 2 years gave out last week (replaced for free)... could a battery with a defective cell contribute at all to the performance of the AC at WOT? With the fresh battery, I don't quite see the issue now. It could be due to the slightly cooler weather though...

Does it get warm during, or after the hard acceleration.
It's not going to immediately get warm, it will probably take 10 seconds of it not running to notice a difference... or maybe it is the battery, and the fan speed is slowing down?

As bclexus noted, the AC performance sounds like it's working as designed when the engine is WOT.

Bringing this back up. This issue is even more noticeable now. Any time the engine rpm is over say 3500, the AC performance will noticeably dip then cool back down within 5 seconds. I am tempted to ask the dealership but I really don’t want to pay their $160+ diagnostics fee smh.

My post is not helpful (sorry), but I just wish I lived somewhere warm enough to have this problem...
