To trade all of the benefits of the luxury package, the AVS suspension, the upgraded 18 way seats, the upgraded leather, the rear seat audio and climate, sunshades, the better wood trim, so on and so on for HD Radio Traffic would be insane IMHO.
I found HDRT to be far more comprehensive than XMNT, with the added benefit of not costing monthly.

The accuracy seemed to be spot on with what Google Traffic pulled up in my experience (Dealer Loaners)

I wouldn't give up the nicer features either for that reason but I'd be looking for a newer loaded up GS instead.

Wooden steering wheel is the seller for me besides many upgrades the Lux package has.

Varies by region. Here HD is at least as accurate as XM, but has much better coverage, including side streets. Traffic coverage for my street was just added last week, something XM isn't close to providing.

With that said, I agree with your point that I wouldn't trade It for the lux features. Doesn't really matter in this case, as OP is comparing a 13 and a 14, both of which have XM.

If the two have relatively the same price, mileage, and condition, 13 lux is the no-brainier answer to me.

You asked the same question as I did a few weeks ago, so check out these answers as well:

Get the Lux... I drive all3 flavors of GSs on a regular basis and I love the seats in the Lux.

That alone would sell me on the Lux.

Now, when you say base... do you mean Base GS350 but with 18s, heated steering wheel, ventilated seats, etc or a base base no heated seat 17" wheel saleproof car?

Thanks guys!

When I say base, I'm talking about a 2014 with at least a Cold Weather package (that's probably not technically a 'base', but whatever...)

Wouldn't even consider one over a luxury package.

The Lux has the best seats. Worth every penny on a long or short drive.
