The Lexus GS 350 F Sport Falls Behind Other Luxury Sedans
By Hannah Elliott
http://bloom.bg/28IzDsW
Bloomberg

"After reading this, you may think I hated the GS 350 F Sport. I don’t—it’s a decent, inoffensive, mass-produced conveyance for getting from point A to point B without feeling anything about anything, ever. Except for maybe slight annoyance at that haptic joystick and the intrusion of a bolster hand pad. But if you’re looking for something more exciting to drive and ride in, or even just something put together better, skip it."

Lol. 535xi 0-60mph is 5.6-5.7s.
This clown is comparing the GS350-F sport to a 550xi to get 1 whole second faster than the f-sport.

What a ridiculous comparison. Would I take a BMW 550xi over a Lexus GS 350 F-sport? Well, yeah, of course I would - but you can bet your *** I'd be torpedoing it the second the warranty ended.

Would I take a BMW 550xi over a Lexus GS 350 F-sport *and* the $20+ thousand dollars I'd need to get it equivalently equipped? Hell no.

Also, it took me about five minutes to master using the joystick. Not sure why every journalist treats it as though it's some sort of automotive Kobayashi Maru test.

In my opinion, the joystick is a really slick system. I read much criticism of it and I went in with a skeptical view -- and my first 5 minutes confirmed, I hated it. Then I took one home for the night and sat in there for 15 minutes playing around and realized how it really works, and it's nice! I find it really easy to use and far better than trying to get that Goldilocks finger press juuuuuuust right on a touch screen while bumping down the road.

My experience with the other cars that are more fun to drive is they are less fun to own than a GS.

Is it a requirement that you compare everything to BMW if you're an automotive journalist?

This reviewer obviously shouldn't be reviewing cars. She can't even keep the facts straight and compare the right cars. The Jaguar XF she mentioned costs upwards of $10-15K more. It's a shame that Bloomberg would hire someone so clueless.

For the price and performance of the BMW 550 and Jaguar XF, I would much rather get the GSF.

She may have had one fact wrong, but some of the responses on this thread are not factual either. An XF does not cost 10-15K more than a Lexus, she did not compare it to a BMW, she compared it to BMW, Audi, CTS, E-Class,, and XF.

We had a current generation GS for two years and I also hated the "joystick" anf agree that the responsiveness of the straight line performance was seriously lacking. I disagree with her on the handling and steering specifically. I thought they were better than the BMW 550 that I also owned at the same time.

Overall I liked our GS a lot for what it was, but have to agree it was not at the high end of sportiness in its class in my opinion. But a great car for most people.

Am I the only one taking notice of the ratchet backdrop she chose? C'mon at least take it in front of a Banksy. Obviously the reviewer had a bias.

I thought my GS was pretty well built other than the creaky "oh crap" handles....Even the "compliment" was a backhanded slap. I guess the Europeans wrote a bigger advertising check this month.

I don't mind a negative review now and then, as they're just opinions, and opinions differ from one person to the next. However, the part where she lost me was when she complained about missing traffic lights in downtown Manhattan because the car can only go from 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds. Dramatic much?

Most journalists can't keep the facts straight or talk about stuff they don't understand. Just like with cars, when I hear them make ignorant statements about guns as' facts', it is annoying.

Lexus is not known for making sports sedans compared to Bmw M and MB AMG packages so in my opinion the comparison is ridiculous and still they did very well making the F Sports. If anyone would compare Bmw 535 M package Lexus F sports side by side. You won't feel your missing anything on it. Maybe the electronic gear shifter.

One person's opinion. As we all know everyone has opinions and some stick.
