Default Oil Won't Drain

GS 350 AWD. I use the plastic pipe attached to a tube for draining. Worked fine the first few oil changes, but now it won't drain. The only way I can get it to drain is to leave the pipe attached and very, very briefly start the car and then turn it off. Then the oil pours out as it should. This happened the last time as well. I'm now at about 40,000 miles.
Planning to take it to the dealer tomorrow, but wanted information on this if anyone else has heard of this problem.

Thanks,

I've never used a tube, but did you try without the tube to see if the problem was still there.

Shouldn't make ant difference. The tube just directs the oil flow. It's not inserted. Keeps thigs less messy. It's recommended for the awd, as opposed to the fsport. Different process than for the fsport

Thanks,

Did you open the fill cap when you drain?

I've used one of these for years on my BMW. Drains right down to the bottom of the pan if you do it right. Also saves the threads on the oil pan which can be expensive if you strip. Warm up the vehicle, stick the tube down the oil dipstick tube and pump for vacuum. Come back in 20 minutes and it's done. Really popular with German car DIYers.

You'll still have to drain the oil filter on Lexus/Toyota models, but this will make the overall change easier and cleaner.

Don't start the car... it's not worth it trying to drain all the oil out. Nothing wrong with some old oil in there.
