Changed the front emblem on my 2016 F sport
So I changed the OEM emblem on my GS, not sure if any of you remember but back when sewell was still alive they were selling a black chrome front emblem, looks really nice
I had it from my old GS so I kept it and installed it on my 2016, all was good, a day passes, second day I'm driving its around 5 PM I see lights flashing on the dash, its telling me the lane keep assist is disabled, it goes away and comes back for like 30 min
than it tells me the pre collision system (PCS) is unavailable. I knew it was something from that emblem, when the repair dude was changing it he thought it was like a light for the emblem, we then figured out they were sensors. There were sensors basically right behind the emblem but I'm pretty sure the dude put it on right, because it was all good after
basically I took it to lexus and they diagnosed it and told me that you need the OEM emblem for the PCS to properly function, something about the sensor seeing through the emblem or something. Im not buying it though, the OEM emblem is legit a piece of plastic
is there any truth to this? What should I do?
sorry for the long read

Lexus Champion
Unfortunately the dealer was right. A few of the sensors for PCS and LKA are hidden behind the front logo. The factory probably calibrated it to see through the OEM logo. It looks like the surrounding/filler piece of your black logo is completely different than the OEM, which probably confused the systems snd disabled them.

That is a $1,100 emblem. Reinstall it and have someone tint it

Usually eBay has the Black Pearl emblems but see this helpful thread about the quality and experience from other members: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l-emblems.html
