Does AWD Luxury have better ride comfort than F-Sport if both are on the same 20" rims and stock suspension, or is the ride comfort only better on the Luxury because it has smaller rims than the F-Sport?

I have 20's on F-Sport but car did come with 19s originally. Can't really feel a difference.

F-Sport is much more stiff then luxury

They say the F-sport has "F-sport tuned suspension" whatever that means. IMO and with relatively low miles in both RWD Lux & RWD F-sport, I find the ride about the same. Any change in the ride quality I would attribute to the lower profile tires of the F-sport.

The optional LDH on the F-sport & adaptive variable steering ratios does make the car feel different with steering, but not the ride.

So if both "Luxury" and "F-Sport" are on 20" low profile tires, the "Luxury" will have a softer and more comfortable ride?

Likely you won't notice it. I drove a Lux that we had recently with 20s on it and it felt comparable to an F-Sport with 19s but it was close.

Truth be told if I get out of an F-Sport and into a Lux I don't notice much of a difference anyhow.

Thanks. I'll probably go for a luxury since I want the most ride comfort with 20s as I can get. I suppose the less stiff suspension of the luxury will help with that.

I have the luxury but with 18" - 2014. Based on previous discussions on this forum, from a performance perspective, the F-Sport has a slightly tighter steering, slightly stiffer coils and better brakes. From many, most can't tell the difference. So the F-Sport gives sportier styling cues, while the Luxury gives more options, like 18-way power front seats, wood steering wheel, adaptive front headlights, power rear shade, etc.

This may be different for the 2015 and 2016, but for the 2013 and 2014 you can find threads on this topic.

I would say the tires would make the biggest difference for handling and ride, otherwise the versions are too close to tell the difference.

If you're not crazy about the additional performance aspects or styling of the F-sport, I recommend the Luxury. It's a great package and the seats are superb. Also your passenger will enjoy the same comfort as the driver.

I've driven them both back-to-back and don't really notice a ride difference, and that's the 18" of luxury with 45-series tires and 19" with 40-series on the F-sport.

If you really want a smooth ride above all else, ES and LS cater to that.

F-Sport can still drive like a Lexus if it is in normal or eco mode, i don't think the tire or rim size matters, once youre in sport or sport plus, you'll feel a more sporty, rough ride on the F-Sport

Tire sidewall and rim size what makes the ride comfortable and harsh. Simple as that. Specially since all the GS's are made on the same chassis and engine (not talking abt the GSF).

I thought the F-Sport had stiffer suspension compared to the Luxury.
