Default 13' F Sport Lowered then axle failure?

Strange scenario... like to see if others ran into this. I lowered the GS350 on Megan LP coilovers, and brought the top of the fender within a half inch of the top of the tire. No tucking, just a clean drop with a coilover set to keep ride comfort. I went to have my rear tires swapped out recently, and there was grease on the inside of the wheel and flung around the suspension. The axle failed!... I had only been riding on the coilovers for about 2 weeks and this happened. So i put the car back to stock and took it to the dealer to have it replaced on warranty.

I will be lowering the car back down, but will be taking my time doing this trying to figure out what the heck went wrong. Has anybody else had an axle fail like this?

I have lowered several of my Lexus car's without incident. Mine were lowered with Coilovers & springs
Did the dealer say what failed?

Very strange as i have done the same with quite a few cars. I've had axles go but not this pre-mature. The boot apparently failed on the wheel side and flung all the grease everywhere. Service adviser said the car was apparently lowered and that cause my axles to be at an angle that caused more stress blah blah blah.. Im hoping it was just a fluke situation but wanted to see if it was common or not.

Definitely not common. Something similar happened to me, but in my case it was the front upper control arm that needed to be replaced, because the ball joint was shot. Just like you, I was the only one with this problem here. Dealer also blamed it on the car being too low.

Yea, I don't believe the lowering caused it. It's possible you might have hit the boot when u installed the coilovers or something flew up while driving. Either way the good news is they can only replace the axle. They don't do boot replacement on 13+ GS
