Does anyone know where to find pix of a customer enclosure in a GS450h (hybrid).
I emphasize hybrid because I've seen the non-hybrids. But the lack of space in the trunk of the hybrid has me wanting different ideas.
I'm mounting 2 12s and a JL 500/1v2 and want everything accessible as far as spare tire, hybrid components, etc. When I say accessible I mean, fiberglass enclosure removable, amp removable, etc and easily replaced. Simply unplug and pull the items out with no major rewiring.

Underneath the sub is industrial strength velco held in place with Gorilla Glue epoxy. The lighter parts are areas scuffed with 60 grit sandpaper before having more velcro applied. On the right side above is all wires terminated at same length with quick disconnects. This combination makes for a completely tool-less removal. Quick in, quick out.
This is the red and white subwoofer out lines from the T40 plug being tapped.
This is T49 plug which has all the MOST signal from the HU into the amp. Between the two MOST wires is the white remote on wire you'll need to tap. Full terminal diagrams are in post #11 in this thread. All in all, three wires to tap.
Bonus. Here is the PAC LC-1 remote gain control **** in the secret compartment.
Thoughts? This install took longer than I thought, but has some nice touches you might not get from your local car audio installer. First, it's not a permanent fixture, and I haven't lost any trunk space. When I need to, it's quick in and quick out. As far as sound, the JL shallow has MORE than enough juice to overpower the ML audio system. I probably run it a quarter power max. If I want to show out, then the trap door with remote gain control **** lets me crank it. Thanks to everyone on this forum who gave advice!
No worries there, I tested. Lateral movements are fine because physics. Weathertech mats are molded into the floor. So the mat is stuck. As far the sub to mat, imagine slapping a 3 foot by 1 foot piece of Industrial velcro against carpet and not peeling, but shearing it free. Thats not gonna happen.
Braking is fine. Sub is pressed against rear seats. The only concern is for the sub to topple facedown from massive acceleration. I've tested that too. We lack torque. Now, if Stillen releases that supercharger, that may change. Either way, folks need to remove their subs for track day, that weight isn't doing you any good.
Where did you pass through the fire wall with your 12V power? Where did you ground the amplifier?
Being this is my first post I purchased a 13W7 and the HD 1200 for my ride. Sub and Lc2i arrived today, waiting for the box and amp to come in the mail along with some wire/fuses etc.
If I don't get many replies I will start an "Aftermarket Amp/Sub Install" thread for the 4GS from the very beginning. Seems like there isn't a tutorial anywhere on the web. Will bring you guys from start to finish on the install and try to answer any questions.
I passed through the the firewall behind and below the battery in the engine compartment. Made a small incision in the boot and then fed the wires through. Not my picture but here is an example of passing through the firewall.
The amplifier is grounded to one of the many bolts exposed after you pull the carpet from the trunk. I forget which one, but pick one that looks sturdy.
@poppiing.. guess I wasn't specific enough. I meant which "remote on" wire is tapped.to tell your amp and LOC to turn on. Is there a thin blue wire running from the amp to the LOC or amplifier? I was busy this past weekend, so no speaker wires tapped yet. But I did just find these ML amplifier wiring diagrams from this thread.

Subwoofer (+) is the #21 Red Wire on the T40 Plug
Subwoofer (-) is the #6 White Wire on the T40 Plug
ACC (Remote Turn-on) is the #8 White Wire on the T49 Plug
If you bought the lc2i it will give you a remote turn on so no need for tapping.
Me too. I'm doing the install as we speak. So, I need to make a decision. Most folks have tapped the subwoofer lines. Thats what I am going to do too.
To me, it's just counter intuitive that Lexus would crossover the sub, but not the rears. Would't they want to protect both speakers? If anyone can provide evidence that the rears or others provide a fuller range of bass frequencies, I'd love to see it. I'll switch course if thats the case.
What color are the sub wires. and what plug. 06 350 ML IF that makes a differennce. maybe post a pic?n
