Default the front bumper cracked, repair or replace?

I hit something on the highway yesterday. Not sure what the hell it was. I barely felt the impact, but this morning I saw that my front bumper has has popped out on the driver's side. While trying to put it back in place, I saw that it also cracked

Not sure if this is repairable?

Does insurance even cover this type of damage or is it better if I pay out of pocket?

doesnt look bad from the pics. should be easy to repair plus you can get your front bumper re-sprayed and looking new from rock chips etc. either that or upgrade to a f sport bumper?

Seems like you can repair it but I would upgrade to the F sport bumper.

Most likely I will replace it. I'm afraid that if I get it fixed, someone will back into my car while parking and it will crack again.

I saw on ebay non-OEM front bumpers, already primed for sale. I can get one for $200 less than OEM. But not sure how well those fit.

Hmm... I have to stop by a few shops, we'll see what they say.

Is it legal to drive without a bumper?

I know for Hondas like Accord the non-oem bumpers don't fit that perfectly. The way they are cut around the headlights and other areas aren't that good.

Replace it! Fixing it will only be temporary, it will crack there again

You're right, nothing beats the OEM.

Exactly what I was told at the body shop today. They said that if it was any other place, then they would fix it, but because it is right on the corner and the top, the paint will crack again. Bumper needs to flex, corners is usually where all the pressure end up going to.

Go OEM on the bumper. Last year when I was actually thinking about doing my conversion, I was advised by the Lexus body shop to not use aftermarket. It's very hard for them to prep and get the bumper ready for paint and they can't guarantee their work if I use aftermarket. So I say spend a little extra and get OEM

You can't fix plastic. Just replace it.

I have decided not to gamble and went with the OEM bumper. The shop did a good job at color matching it.

Unfortunately, my cracked bumper was just the beginning of my problems. A week after, my Aimgain front lip arrived, and it was damaged. The entire bottom half came off.

I have spent an entire week, sanding it, glueing it with epoxy and fiberglass. Then sending it again after applying the body filler. Not too sure how long it would last, but here are the final results.

So you didn't do the F sport bumper conversion? Looks great none the less.
