Is it possible to put a Power trunk?
Picked up a 2016 GS 350 F Sport without the 1 touch power trunk and the wife is dying to have that trunk.
Is it at all possible to have it installed aftermarket if we didn't buy a GS350 with it?

I sure hope you can figure it out. My wife would have been pretty upset if I did not get that on mine. The ladies really like that feature. She still smiles every time she uses it. Somtimes it doesn't take much to please them.

This is odd. When I talked to a dealer back in March about doing a special order, the power trunk was one item that was not negotiable. The car came with that, and the added $400 MSRP would be factored in.
Maybe it's just on the AWD models.

But I've looked into this too and the only way to get it is to find a wrecked gs350 with it and swap the parts over.

We're evolving from power folding mirrors to power trunks now.

I recently bought a gently used GS450h that has every available option known to it, resulting in a quite high original sticker price of about $76K, but the only thing they left off was the $400 power trunk option. It annoys me to no end that the original owner or Lexus left it off the order, even though, as someone else said here, it's really an unnecessary feature but so nice to have. I have the power trunk option on my LS, and sometimes it's annoying waiting for it to come down, so there's that, haha! (First-world problems again.) The trunk on the GS350/450h isn't very heavy so is quite manageable, at least that's what I tell myself to make myself feel better about not having the power version. :-) If anyone here needs something to feel special about today, if you have the power trunk, there are some people out here who wish we were you.
I have to admit, though, if it were easy to add it on after the fact, I would be adding it on to my GS right now. I don't know why a power trunk feels like you've "arrived," but somehow it does. Funny what we grow to like, huh? I can remember a day far in the past when I was just happy to have a car that ran, let alone all these creature comforts.
