Default Passenger side headlight went out today

Im running Philips Ultinon D4S 6000k on my 15 GS I bought it for $240 on eBay so its the real deal.

Anyways today got out of the car noticed the passenger side was not working hopped back in the car turn the switch from auto to all the way up position how you manually turn the lights on and it started working again but noticed again it went out after i got to my destination now everytime i turn the car on and off or the light switch to on and off lights working normally.

You guys think its the bulb or the ballast?

Note: Now I'm going to be a bit paranoid at nights driving with the lights on I keep on looking at the car infront of me to see the reflection of my cars lights to see if the lights on or not :/

Why didn't you just get a car with factory HID's? All aftermarket HID kits are a risk....

Wait, what?

He changed the bulbs, he's not running an aftermarket kit.

OP....sounds like the ballast.

I have yet to see a 4GS without HID or LED headlamps.

Oh I do that with my OEMs too man, keep checking my reflection to see if both of my lights are on. It's an OCD thing.

Try going back to OEM bulbs and see if it's still the same. If it is then ur ballast is going bad and keep the OEM bulbs installed and head to the dealer for warranty replacement ballast. Just play the "I don't knows" game there.

I did not change anything to aftermarket. Philips bulbs are OEM bulbs. I just upgraded to the 6000k the car comes with factory 4300k I think my originals were henderson or harrison bulbs if I'm not mistaking.

I have a spare philips 6000k bulb that i never used got it under a warranty claim. I might just swap it out with that and see whats going on. If its the ballast then Ill have to take it in which I hate taking my car to the dealer

And I never took the car in for service not even the first 5k free service.
I change oil filter all by myself.

**UPDATE**

So looks like the bulb was taking its last breath last night because this after noon it kept on turning off as soon as I turned the lights on. Replaced it with stock bulbs worked perfectly put back the bad bulb again kept on turning off (meaning the ballast is working fine). Popped in the spare Philip Ultinon bulb so far working perfectly. Posting few pictures below.

If your happy with the OEM headlights then no need to touch it. I dont like OEM headlights because it has a yellowish look to it.
