Default "Sales of the Lexus GS were also down 40.6 percent to 1,524 units."

What is going on with that? The GS LCI was supposes to rock. Is this a prank?

"While truck sales across the industry were strong in March, sales of the full-size Toyota Tundra were down 19.5 percent to 10,002 units. Sales of the Sienna minivan were also down 13.6 percent to 11,996 units. Sales of the Lexus GS were also down 40.6 percent to 1,524 units. In a conference call, Toyota said sales were affected by the timing of Easter this year, as many dealerships were closed. A Toyota spokesman also told us the results could show a shift from cars to light truck, SUV, and crossover sales. “Our light truck sales were up, just not enough to counter the decline in passenger cars,” he said."

Kind of expected this, I have yet to see a '16 GS on the road. Honestly I don't see too many 13-15 GS models either. Seems like the IS, RX and LS are popular in NYC.

I think the leases are still close to $600. Dealers are trying to make a few bucks, so the deals right now are not that great.

I'm not surprised at the reduced sales numbers. I think it may partially be the redesigned front end. I have yet to find anyone (except on this forum) who thinks the newly designed shark-mouthed grill is an improvement. I personally think it looks hideous and I would have a hard time "upgrading" to that model. I see them on the streets and cringe. I don't know what Lexus was thinking. I'm standing by for "inbound". I'm sure many of you think it's wonderful and that's fine. Everyone has their own opinion.

I've seen about six 2016 GS350's on the road so far. I personally like the refresh.

I'd say that's basically this one, that was posted on Lexus Enthusiast.

Maybe there are more people such as myself purchasing CPO 2013-15 GS's rather than leasing or buying 2016 GS's.

I reached out to 5 (five) dealers in early March to get a "deal" on a GS. They ALL brushed me off and offered me $900/month leases for 36 months. Oh well, I guess. Sooner or later they'll start coming down from their high horse.

Hopefully these sales numbers burn them all. You know Lexus corporate is not happy.

Although maybe it is a inventory issue...in which case my rant is null and void.

Agreed. I recently purchased a '14 CPO F Sport. My wife saw several '16 GSs on the lot and her reaction to the new grill was not positive. My closest friend thought my '14 was a new car when he saw it until he asked me about the front end. He said "well...which Lexus has that big, gawdy grill? I like your grill." I told him virtually all the new Lexus' have the "overstated" grill.

Honestly, I didn't care for the GS grill on the '13s when it first came out but it grew on me and I now own a '14. I hated the original gaping mouth grill on the Audis when it arrived years ago and I now love them. I imagine the new grills on the GS, ES, IS, etc. will grow on me. I owned a '12 Acura TL before the GS. Many people hate the grill on that car. I liked it, compared to the original beak when it first came out. I also find BMW grills boring to say the least.

I agree completely. My wife and I recently traded our 2014 GS for a GX. While at the dealer I pointed at a new RX next to us and asked if she would be interested in it. She looked at the front of it and I can't repeat what she said leading up to "no". Fortunately the GX version is not as bad, and it's the only Lexus that does not have the "mouse", otherwise we would likely have bought an Audi Q7.

I agree as well. When deciding whether to trade in a couple of months ago we went to park place and looked at the new GS. My fiance's face said it all. Sadly i agreed. The tail lights remind me of a 90's civic going for the "Altezza Style" and the front end is pretty hideous. Too soft and not angular enough like my f sport. Needless to say we walked away and i decided i'm keeping midnight for awhile longer. Just put led fogs in too, love 'em!
